Identify and state the similarities and aspects of religion
Previous Knowledge : The learners are familiar with our Religion.
Content :
SIMILARITIES AND ASPECTS OF RELIGION
i. They teach us to believe in one God.
ii. They teach us not to do evil.
iii. To teach us to be good and to behave well.
iv. They teach us to love other people as we love ourselves.
v. To teach us to fear and Respect God.
vi. To teach us to be peaceful with our neighbors.
vii. They teach us to tolerate one another.
viii. They teach us to respect people in authority.
DIFFERENCES IN RELIGION
- They have different name they call God.
- They dress differently
- They have different places of worship
- They have different belief like Christian worship God through Jesus Christ, Muslim worship God through Mohammed, traditional religion worship God through their ancestors and spirit.
REASONS WHY WE MUST LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE VIEWS :
1. To leave peacefully with one another.
2. To share ideas and learn from each other’s.
3. To be able to take decision together.
4. To promote interaction among us
5. To promote peace and progress.
6. To avoid religious crisis
7. To promote national unity and development.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The Teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions.
Step 2 : The Teacher introduces the topic by identifying the similarities in the religions
Step 3 : Asks the learners identify the differences in the religions.
Step 4 : The Teacher then state reasons why we must respect other people’s view on religion.
