Previous Knowledge : Learners are familiar with security Gadgets and dangers of Insecurity.
Content :
Sources of Danger and Insecurity
There are different sources of danger and Insecurity in our society. These are :
1. Bombings
2. Suspicious movement
3. Food poisoning
4. Dangerous chemicals
5. Kidnapping
6. Out break of diseases
7. Robbery
A) Bombings : A bomb is an explosive weapons that is very dangerous.
Resultant effects of bomb explosion.
1. Destruction of life.
2. Destruction of property.
3. Causes burns.
4. Destruction of vegetation.
B) Suspicious Movement : These are movement that are distrustful. Strangers make this movement. This can be done at home or in the school. Examples strangers fleeing into a compound.
C) Dangerous chemicals : These are liquid substances that are harmful to is. When allowed to touch out body, it can lead to death or injury. Examples of dangerous chemicals are : acids, bleach, kerosine, insecticide, petrol, etc.
D) Food poisoning : These are illness caused by eating contaminated food. It is also called Food Borne illness.
Symptoms of Food Poisoning
1. Vomiting
2. Mild fever
3. Loss of appetite
4. Weakness
5. Headaches
E) Kidnapping : This is taking somebody away illegally to an unknown place.
F) Robbery : This is the crime of stealing money or other valuable things from people.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic to the learners by identifying sources of dangers
Step 3 : Explain Insecurity and it sources
Step 4 : Describes and give examples of dangerous substances and it sources.
Evaluation : The teacher reviews the lesson by asking the following questions.
