Content :
Traditional Festivals are indigenous festival made up of cultural and spiritual activities which the people have created and developed during the course of history.
These festivals serve as a means of passing down cultural values and beliefs from one generation to the next.
Examples of traditional festivals are :
1. Sango Festival in Ilé-Ifè, Osun State
2. Igogo festival in Benin, Edo State.
3. Osun Festival in Osogbo, Osun State.
4. Argungun fishing festival in Kebbi state.
5. Egungun Festival in Lagos State.
6. Ojúde Ọba Festival in Ìjẹ̀bú Ode, Ogun State.
7. Durbar festival in Kano State.
8. Ofala festival in Anambra State.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous lesson with the learners by asking them questions orally.
Step 2 : He/ she explain the meaning of traditional festival and examples of traditional festival.
Step 3 : The Teacher lead the learners to explain and list examples of traditional festival.
Step 4 : Calls on the learners one by one to list and explain examples of traditional festival.
