Content :
Plants are useful to us in many ways.
1. They serve as food E.g cassava, potatoes, carrot , onion, yam, cocoyam, sugarcane
2. They are used to beautify our surrounding . E.g lawn and gardens
3. They serve as shade and protect us from sun burn.
4. Things from plants are used for building houses and classrooms. E.g wood for making doors, windows and roofs. Grasses and leaves are used as thatched roof
5. They are used for making furniture. E.g chairs, tables, cupboard, bed, etc.
6. They are used for making medicine. E . g root, leaves, and bark of wood for making herbs.
7. They help to protect soil erosion.
8. Some plants serves as wind breaker.
Presentation Steps :
Step 1 : Revises the previous Lesson with the learners by asking questions orally.
Step 2 : Introduces the new topic by asking, “why is plant important?”
Step 3 : State the importance of plants and its parts.
